			<p><strong>Employee meetings, industry meetings, management conferences, workshops &#8211; the coronavirus continues to prevent events like these from taking place in the usual manner. Considering the current developments, there will be no major attendance events in the coming months. However, this does not mean that events of this size will have to be completely abandoned in the future.</strong></p>
<p>The experiences of the last months show that virtual events can offer great advantages, especially in a cross-regional context &#8211; provided they are well prepared. If this is the case, they are often not only clearer but also shorter and more efficient. In other words: collaboration, working on topics together, personal exchange with larger groups &#8211; all this is still possible. The coronavirus must no longer be a reason to postpone future topics. We have now arrived in the &#8220;new reality&#8221;. It is time to take the shaping of the future back into our own hands.</p>
<p>Especially in uncertain, dynamic times like these, the need for information and exchange is greater than ever. However, a smart approach is needed to interlink existing knowledge, so-called system intelligence, and make it usable under the changed conditions. Over the past years, transformis® has been able to gain extensive experience in the use of digital technologies in the consulting process as well as in the planning and implementation of virtual events as part of <a href="https://en.transformis-consulting.de/competences/blended-consulting/">blended consulting</a>. 			<p><strong>Kim Charlotte Pfeffer</strong>: In our customer projects so far, we have always held events with over 150 participants on-site. For example, information events on the actual progress of change processes. Given the current situation, we are switching to completely digital formats for this type of events to be able to continue the change process as planned with regard to its content. This requires a totally different planning and organization.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With digital events, it is even more important to first take a close look at the target group: What is their level of information, their attitudes, and the degree to which they are affected by the topic of the event? How can the participants be reached, what skills do they have in using digital methods? What knowledge and skills should the event convey? Should we work towards a change of attitude? Based on this information, it is necessary to develop suitable formats and dramaturgies with which such events can be implemented to achieve the planned goals. Of course, this is also very important for analogous events. However, for digital events, this information is even more relevant. In particular, skills in the use of digital methods and the practical prerequisites have a decisive effect on the technical implementation of the dramaturgy.</span></p>

			<p>This type of planning involves different preparation and follow-up work, as the accompanying communication also becomes more relevant to the organization. In addition, the attention span of participants is much shorter at digital events than at analog events. Especially when the camera and microphone are switched off, it is tempting to work on other topics at the same time or to reach for a smartphone. This is where digital facilitation plays a particularly important role. It is about making events more dynamic, more effective, and above all more interactive in order to achieve a real working ability of the group or to keep the attention of the participants.</p>
<p>Successful digital events are not characterized by the use of the most unusual and impressive tools &#8211; but by the selection of adequate formats and methods based on the needs and possibilities of the audience and oriented towards the respective goals. It is important to keep the barriers to participation as low as possible and to design the event in such a way that the desired goals can be achieved as effectively and efficiently as possible.</p>

HOW DID YOU EXPERIENCE YOUR FIRST PURELY DIGITAL EVENTS AND HOW DID THE FORMAT EVOLVE?</h5></div></div>

			<p><strong>Laura Hüer:</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We have had very similar experiences. However, our events have been created against a different background and with a different goal: In the course of the corona pandemic, a supra-regional, cross-organizational exchange in one of our customer systems was no longer possible within the scope of the restrictions. At the same time, there was an acute need for an exchange of experience on current developments and taken measures. As a result, a format became necessary that would also enable a productive dialog via digital channels.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The solution was digital think tanks, i.e. platforms that invite to an open discourse and support active networking. This series of events arose spontaneously from the situation and was implemented at short notice. A major challenge here was to enter into dialog without the interpersonal aspect. Informal, casual communication, such as a joint coffee before or after the meeting, is missing in digital events. Discussing with each other and only seeing each other via webcam is something different than sitting opposite each other in person. In the meantime, we are used to video conferences, but back then, all this was relatively new for our participants. Here, facilitation was required to create a trustful atmosphere for a productive exchange.</span></p>

			<p><strong>Laura Hüer:</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We deliberately decided to keep the size of the groups small in order to create a personal atmosphere for discussion. In addition, the participants already exchanged their contact details during the event to continue the subsequent dialog &#8211; thus, estanblishing new networks is also possible without personal meetings, if the setting is right. Another practical aspect was that relevant experts were able to participate in the events at short notice and at low cost from anywhere. In general, this dissolution of the physical boundaries of events also makes it possible to accompany topics with virtual sequences over weeks or months &#8211; even later, when face-to-face events become possible again at some point.</span></p>
<p><strong>Kim Charlotte Pfeffer:</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At many events, we have benefited from the fact that the formats were already known as such. Our experience shows that the groups have been very responsive to the digital implementation &#8211; especially in the current situation. In addition, we were able to make the events much more interactive, the technical possibilities for digital events are enormous. With the integration of live voting, we can actively involve all participants, whether they are 100 or 800. Even requests to speak can be taken up much more easily than is the case in face-to-face events &#8211; it is easier to keep an eye on the chat than to run across the event room with a microphone. Another advantage of online events is that they can be recorded and made available digitally with little effort. This means that participants can decide for themselves when they want to view the content</span>.</p>

			<p><strong>Kim Charlotte Pfeffer: </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">We have been working with modern applications and online communication media for years and know how processes can be implemented well via online communication channels. The events are all about using appropriate methods in a targeted manner, whether it be live voting, the use of interactive tools, or programs.</span></p>
<p><strong>Laura Hüer:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> We use a flexible and balanced mix of methods in our customer projects. We call this blended consulting. This means that when choosing a method, we always focus on the situation-specific needs of our client in order to achieve the desired result as efficiently and effectively as possible while saving resources. In some cases, face-to-face events are the appropriate format, in other cases it is digital solutions &#8211; while in other situations it is hybrid events. In hybrid events, some participants are personally on site and another part is mobile. In the current situation, however, digital events are usually the method of choice.</span></p>

			<p><strong>Laura Hüer:</strong> <span style="font-weight: 400;">In our case, it was clearly the spontaneous and short-term implementation of the think tanks that enabled the participants to actively network during the tense crisis period and thus gather experience from different areas. We later made the digital transcripts with the jointly developed findings available to all participants, so that everyone could benefit from the discussions.</span></p>
<p><strong>Kim Charlotte Pfeffer:</strong> I<span style="font-weight: 400;">n the follow-up to the events, the participants often emphasized once again how uncomplicated it is to participate in such setups. Anyone could dial into the event from anywhere &#8211; from the office, from the home office, or while traveling.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Exactly, such a mix of a personal live event with virtual components also has many advantages. With hybrid events, we are no longer limited by physical or geographical boundaries. This opens up completely new possibilities for designing virtual events. But we also know that there are challenges that are difficult to handle over distance or online channels. Here, we are constantly working on innovative solutions</span>.</p>

			<p>Blended Consulting did not emerge on the drawing board but has grown evolutionary in our consulting practice. In 2014, we reflected and critically examined our consulting processes as a team and created the term “Blended Consulting” for the consulting practice that was already lived at that time.</p>

			<p>Corona makes “remote“ a buzzword and working with the customer via digital channels the most important form of communication.</p>
<p>In this respect, transformis® benefits from the fact that, within the framework of Blended Consulting, we have gained years of experience in working with digital means of communication and were immediately able to make effective professional use of this experience once the Corona-related restrictions were implemented. Our projects are continuing, in some cases even with greater intensity than before the Corona pandemic. What I observe is that the communication with our clients takes place in much shorter and more intensive set-ups and that we must make sure that sufficient breaks are planned and taken during and between remote meetings.</p>

			<p>No. As I have described, transformis® always strives to select a suitable method and adequate media for corresponding consulting situations in the framework of Blended Consulting. Of course, there are still situations where a personal interaction between key players would be useful. Currently, however, depending on the client’s system, this is not always possible.</p>
<p>Even before the Corona situation, we have already gained experience in working with modern applications and online communication media and know that many processes can be implemented well via online communication channels. But we also know that there are challenges that are difficult to handle over distance or online channels. Here we are working on innovative solutions and have already achieved very good results.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the past month, transformis® successfully hosted the first <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® </strong>workshop at the ECNU in Shanghai.</p>
<p>Twelve educational experts from all over China participated in the two day workshop on the 14th and 15th of August 2014 which was about the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® for Applied Technology during Lessons</strong>.</p>
<p>The event aimed to translate the theoretical base-structure provided by the ministry for education into work streams and identify typical school-day scenes, which can be used for the production of E-Learning-tools.</p>
<p>Due to the goal-oriented preparation of transformis® and the twelve teachers from the ECNU, the event was a success. The workshop stimulated lively discussions between professors, experts, and teachers, which lead to productive exchanges and new targets for the program <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR®.</strong></p>
<p>Subsequently to the workshop, the twelve experts were able to produce a screenplay including all necessary identified school-day scenes, which will be modified and finalized by the production team during the next step in the beginning of October. We are proud of the outcome and look forward to the presentation of an excellent training program for Chinese teachers.</p>

<p>The <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® for Applied Technology during Lessons</strong> is a project which was initiated in the end of 2013 by transformis® and the East China Normal University. Its goal is to provide Chinese teachers with an efficient online training program, embedded in a modern media-platform.</p>
<p>The program is based on the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® </strong>concept, which supports the traditional training methods in an innovative way by using visual scenes and examples from typical school-days. This way, an interesting and comprehensive learning experience is created in line with our blended learning understanding.</p>

<p>About 350 young teachers with 3-7 years’ teaching experience from kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools and high schools participated in the 4-day workshops to introduce the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® Directing in Teaching</strong> and the Learning Management System. The purpose of the kick-off workshop was to introduce our e-learning platform and to implement the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® Directing in Teaching</strong> in the coming seven weeks.</p>

<p>The feedback to the workshop and the training content from the participants and the workshop organizers (Teachers’ Training Colleges) was very positive. They found the design of the workshop new and interactive and the content of the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® Directing in Teaching</strong> interesting and close to their daily teaching practice. In the workshop the participants had an intensive discussion about the school cultural differences between Germany and China.</p>
<p>During the role play, the participants demonstrated the classic situations in Chinese schools, both in and outside the classroom. In this way, the participants reflected the theoretical background of the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® Directing in Teaching</strong>. More importantly, it helped them to realize the importance of building a trustful and appreciating relationship with students, colleagues and parents, and to create an active and productive learning atmosphere to encourage the students’ initiative, proactivity and responsibility of learning. Ziel des Kick-off Workshops war es, unsere E-Learning-Plattform vorzustellen sowie in den kommenden sieben Wochen den <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® Führen im Unterricht</strong> anzuwenden.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is pilot project between transformis® and the Songjiang Teacher’s Training College aims to introduce our e-learning platform and implement and evaluate the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® Directing in Teaching</strong>.</p>
<p>The team at transformis® has, in recent months, designed and developed an online platform based on a Learning Management System (LMS), which can meet the specific technical requirements of Chinese teachers. Learning management systems and bulletin board systems (BBS) have been in use for many years. They have been implemented more widely in the education sector in China than the European countries, for example, Germany.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-6334" src="http://en.transformis-consulting.de/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/kickoff-sj_DE.png" alt="by transformis®" width="1060" height="367" /> <!--:--><span id="more-6329"></span>The kick-off workshop successfully took place on 15th Jan. 2014. The participants included 40 young teachers who are high-performers from kindergardens, primary schools, middle schools and high schools. We have received very positive feedback from the participants, who have found the workshop very interesting, active and engaging. Through the role play, an intensive discussion among the participants has been initiated and the content of the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® </strong>has been entrusted with Chinese cultural connotation. Soon after the workshop, some of the teachers have written feedback to the workshop and expressed their wish to deepen the discussion on the content with us.</p>

<p><em>In the video, the pupil has made a mistake in the task and the teacher was very angry and asked the pupil to repeat the same task twice. The mother came to pick up the pupil and asked for the reason why she was still doing the coursework. The pupil told her mum that she made a mistake and the teacher asked her to repeat the coursework twice. The mother was angry and said to the teacher: “My child is only in the first grade, why does she have to do so much coursework?! What you did is a punishment for the kid and I will file a complaint against you.“</em></p>
<p>One participant has written an article about the current teaching practice in Chinese schools, based on the content of the workshop.<br />
“Being student-orientated” is the fundamental education concept in the contemporary school education. This concept is well known to the teaching professionals. However, it is not easy to be student-orientated at the right time in teaching practices both in China and European countries. Particularly, teachers can usually not fulfill the requirements for being student-orientated adequately and even ignore students’ needs and requests in order to keep up with the teaching plans. Such a practice has diverged from the essence of “student-orientation”.<br />
The <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® Directing in Teaching </strong>has shown us that school teachers in Germany have also encountered the same problem of how to meet students’ needs effectively, which is also a common phenomenon in the Chinese classroom.”</p>
<h2>Introduction of Songjiang Teachers’ Training College</h2>
<p>The innovative project between transformis® and Songjiang Teacher’s Training College began in October 2013, with the purpose to develop innovative teaching training programmes. Songjiang Teacher’s Training College was established in March 1960. In the past 40 years, with the social changes and transformation, the college has been continuously engaged in improving teaching methods, exploring innovative training programmes and achieving teaching excellency.<br />
Songjiang Teacher’s Training College aims to enhance the competences of 8.000 teachers in the Songjiang District, with a special focus on successfully equipping the teachers with the required knowledge, necessary skills together with the underlying attitude to handle the challenges of the internationalization process.</p>

			<p>The first of our two pilot projects in the education sector has started this week in Shanghai. This is a collaboration between transformis®S and two of the largest institutions for teacher training in Shanghai: The Institute of Education Developent (PIED) and the Teacher Training College of Songjiang (TTCS). The aims of the pilot projects are to introduce our e-learning platform and to implement and evaluate the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR – Directing in Teaching</strong> with selected teachers.<!--:cn--></p>
<p>The team of transformis® have in recent months designed and developed an online platform based on a Learning Management System (LMS), which can meet the specific technical requirements of the Chinese teachers. In China, learning management systems and bulletin board systems (BBS) have been in use for many years. They have been implemented more widely in the education sector in China than in European countries, for example Germany.<!--:--></p>
<p>The first kick-off with 40 participants took place on Monday, 30th Jan. 2014. The kick-off has proven to be a success. The participants were directors of the institute and trainers from the Teacher’s Training Department and the School Management Training Department. We have received very positive feedback from the participants, who have found the introduction of the LMS very interesting, active and engaging. The scenes of the PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR shown in the workshop led to a constructive and intensive dialogue among teachers. The focus of the discussion were particular the cultural differences between German and Chinese pupils and teachers. The tool available is a good basis to promote exchange of what has been seen and what has been experienced.</p>
<p>The participants agreed that online training is valuable and practical because they can access the PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR via the learning platform at anytime and anywhere. Through the integrated Bulletin Board System, the participants can exchange their experience and observations.</p>

			<h2>What is PIED?</h2>
<p>In April 2012, S&amp;P began cooperating with Shanghai Pudong Institute of Education Development (PIED) in a project to establish an international education exchange platform. PIED was founded in October 2004, and is the first regionally based institute of education research and development in China. The institute is strongly engaged in the advanced training of teaching professionals, improving regional teaching quality, popularizing new teaching technology and implementing international educational exchange projects.</p>
<p>PIED aims to strengthen the competencies of 35,000 school teachers in Shanghai’s Pudong school district. PIED’s objectives particularly emphasize successfully equipping the teachers with the required knowledge, necessary skills together with the underlying attitude to handle the challenges of the internationalization process.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the context of the cooperation between the East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai and the transformis® International Consulting Group a production contract for the production of the first PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR® in China in Shanghai was signed on 12 December 2013.<br />
As part of a dissertation at the ECNU the competencies which are relevant for Chinese teachers have been identified. In the next step, these competencies are validated with the participation of lessons from all districts of China, in order to create realistic simulation scenes for the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR®</strong>.</p>

Prof. Dr. Zhu said, &#8220;I am firmly convinced that we will do with this new and innovative tool completely new standards in teacher education and training in China. I am delighted that we have signed the contract today and now can start with the project&#8221;.</p>

The Trademark registration emphasizes the uniqueness and quality of the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR®</strong>.</p>
<p>The legitimate brand protection of the training tool has been regarded as a particular success for the transformis® International Consulting Group. The company now has exclusive rights to use the registered word/figurative mark <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR®</strong> during application, production and distribution of the training tool.</p>

<p>The <a href="http://www.transformis-consulting.de/performance-simulatoren.php"><strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR®</strong></a> is a computer and media-supported training tool for competence measurement and development, with which decentralized groups of people can use mobile devices to access training content regardless of time and place. With this innovative technology, necessary learning and change processes can be efficiently established in an organization.</p>
<p>The <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR®</strong> is based on the neuroscientific findings, according to which, an individual experiences an observed action as a sort of inner simulation. Consequently, the <strong>PERFORMANCE SIMULATOR®</strong> creates an authentic learning environment by simulating situations critical to success. The trainees evaluate the simulated situation. A virtual coach then provides immediate feedbacks and helps the trainees to understand and learn from the simulations and to implement what they have learned into practice.
